    About Goodman & Son

    Goodman & Son are a family-run bathroom and kitchen renovation company based in Pangbourne, Reading. We cover all trades in-house — plumbing, tiling, carpentry, electrics, plastering, and decoration — which means we manage the complete renovation from start to finish without using subcontractors.     The Design Process

    After the free site survey, we take your brief and produce a photorealistic 3D render of your new bathroom or kitchen showing every element of the finished room from multiple angles — the tiles, fixtures, lighting, and overall atmosphere. We refine the design through as many revisions as needed until you are completely happy, and only then do we begin installation.

    The Installation Process

    A standard full bathroom renovation takes between 7 and 12 working days. A targeted update might take 3 to 5 days. A wet room installation with structural work typically takes 10 to 14 working days. We provide an accurate timeline at the free site survey.

    Plumbing & Electrical Questions

    Yes. All electrical work is carried out by our own certified electricians and is fully tested and certified to Part P building regulations. We provide certificates for all electrical installations including shower circuits, lighting, extractor fans, and shaver sockets.

    Tiling & Finishing

    We work with ceramic, porcelain, natural stone (marble, slate, travertine, limestone), mosaic, glass, and encaustic tiles. Each has different fixing, grouting, and maintenance requirements and our tiling team is experienced with all of them.

    Building Regulations & Planning

    In almost all cases, no. Bathroom renovations are internal works and do not require planning permission. The exception is listed buildings or conservation areas. We advise on this at the site survey.
